Happy World Gratitude Day!

This is pretty cool: in addition to Thanksgiving, we get another day to celebrate gratitude! The planet will celebrate Gratitude Day this Thursday, September 21st.

Here are some ideas from my book, The Gratitude Connection, to help you get into the spirit:

If you don't already have a gratitude practice, start one this week! All it takes is to decide to focus a few minutes a day on the people, places, experiences and things you feel grateful for. The key word here is feel. Even if you make a list, take a moment to relax and deeply feel gratitude.

  1. As you go through your day, look around for things to be grateful for. If you feel like complaining about something, turn it around to focus on what you like instead. Here's an example: Rather than saying, "I hate the cold weather," say, "I love being warm."
  2. Spread it around! A simple "thank you" goes a long way in relationships at home, with friends, and at work.

Gift the gift of gratitude! The Gratitude Connection helps you build a foundation of happiness with simple practices, starting with the positive power of gratitude.
